How to crochet a Poppy
This simple and apparently delicate field flower really is very strong, we find it in fact that it comes out from the asphalt and the crevices of the sidewalks, the slopes and the edges of the fields where it has not been removed from the herbicides. Simplicity of simplicity opens to the sun in all its extraordinary beauty

. He is also part of the Flower Field composition. Let's start with the explanation.
Needed: cotton number 20 - crochet 1.0mm - scissors - galvanized iron wire 0.45mm - plasticized iron wire - pliers.
Explanation of the flower
Start 5 chains, close in and out inside:
1 lap: 12 single crochet
2 laps: in 6 points do 12 double crochet, turn the job
3rd round: in each stitch work 2 points as follows: 2 double crochet, 20 triple crochet, 2 double crochet, turn the job
4 lap: 2 double crochet, 9 triple crochet, 3 triple crochet in one base point, 3 triple crochet in one base point, 9 triple crochet, 2 double crochet.
5 laps: 2 double crochet, 11 triple crochet, 3 triple crochet in one base point, 3 triple crochet in one base point, 11 triple crochet, 2 double crochet.
6 lap: 2 double crochet, 13 triple crochet, 3 triple crochet in one point, 3 triple crochet in one point, 13 triple crochet, 2 double crochet.
Quit the job, start from the remaining 6 remaining single crochet starting points and resemble the same as another petal. Total you will have 2 petals united below. I have petals of 3 different sizes to give the right shape to the flower. The one you just made is the big petal, the average worked up to 5 lap and the small one up to 4 lap. Eliminate 1 lap from the middle and 2 laps from the small. To create the big flower first insert the medium petal and then the big one, to create the middle flower first insert the small petal and then the middle petal. Poppy petals should stand on their own, because I gave it the shape of the poppy, if it does not happen (it depends very much on the type of cotton you are using) to put them in a bit.
Explanation of the frangible pistil
Start 5 chains in round and inside to do: 16 double crochet (every 2 points make a chunk of 3 chains)
Explanation of the "micro" goblet
(The poppy in nature does not have it but I needed to hold the flower)
Start 2 chains and in the first make 10 single crochet
Now cut a piece of plastic wire of the appropriate length and in a bit wrap several times of the black cotton to form a small ball, helping with a bolted pinch the stem of the stem to stop and close the work. Now insert the frangible pistil and the petals one over the other, but overlap them to create the right flower shape. Also insert the micro goblet to hold the flower and work the chains around the stem except for the piece that will be inserted inside the jar or if you are going to make a single poppy work it to the end of the stem and then bend the tip to hold the work.
Explanation of the bud
Start 6 chains, close in round and inside do
1 lap and 2 laps: 16 double crochet
3 rounds: every 2 make a decrease, keep the work out of stock.
Now cut a piece of plastic wire wire to get the stem, bend it 3 or 4 times into a tip and insert it into the bud. Now with 4 or 5 small points close the work and without cutting the cotton worked around the stem the chains to dress it up.
Explanation of the leaf
I did put them a bit to realize them and after so many tests this seemed to me the most similar.
Start 30 chains.
Insert the galvanized iron wire by working around the single crochet working around the single crochet on one side and the other on the chains.
1 lap: 3 slip stitch, 10 chains and in these make: 2 single crochet, 3 half double crochet, 4 double crochet, 1 slip stitch in the base, 5 single crochet, 3 times equal again. 8 chains and in these make: 2 single crochet, 2 half double crochet, 3 double crochet, 5 slip stitch, 2 times to resemble the same. 6 chains and in these make: 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 3 double crochet, 1 slip stitch at the base. 1 single crochet and center point on the top do: 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 1 double crochet, 1 triple crochet, 1 double triple crochet, 1 triple crochet, 1 double crochet, 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 slip stitch. Repeat the same on the other side while working on the contrary. Now join the bottom edge edges by sewing them along the central groove.
I hope I have given a clear and comprehensible explanation, it seems difficult but it is not. This leaf will then have to squeeze it a bit to hold the beautiful open tips.
Now that you've done everything, make up your jar of poppies that you can just leave it alone or arrange them together with other flowers to create maybe a composition of wildflowers as I did.
As always let yourself be guided by your imagination. Have fun all the way to the next.
This is one of my first translations I realize. I hope they are clear. Let me know in the comments.
bravissima
RispondiEliminaCiao Maria, grazie tante!
EliminaHello, I hope you see this message 4 years later. Thank you for sharing your beautiful pattern! I want to make it for my Mom for Christmas and I was hoping you can explain this part from Row 3 of the flower: "Work at 2 points as follows: 2 points high. Grazie mille!
RispondiEliminaYou must excuse me a lot, mine was a translation error that I just made to correct thanks to you. I hope it's clearer now. Sorry again and good creation.
EliminaThank you for answering and yes, that really helps make it clearer :) I also found your video and it answered all my other little questions! Thank you for being so generous and sharing all these wonderful patterns (and videos) for free!
EliminaThank you for your kindness. It is a pleasure for me to give others who have the same passion as me the opportunity to make flowers and crochet plants. I wish you good creation for your future achievements.
EliminaThank you for sharing. I have made several stand alone poppies in little plant pots for the British Legion, and am just about to start a purple poppy arrangement to remember the thousands of animals killed during the wars.
RispondiEliminaHi Rosegill, a big thank you for your kindness. It gives me immense pleasure to know, I really appreciate your noble gesture ❤️
