How to crochet a Edelweiss
The queen of mountain flowers, the Star Alpine is a
protected flower and perhaps even the most famous around which there are so many
beautiful legends. A flower that after years of ruthless gathering today is
returning to spread and has managed to survive because it usually lives in
improvised areas. This crocheted flower is also part of the composition of
mountain flowers
Explanation of the flower
Explanation of the flower
Section of 5 Small Petals: Start 5 chains, close in circle
and inside to do:
1 turn: 10 chains and in these make: 9 single crochet, a slip
stitch in the circle for a total of 5 times.
2 laps: in the single crochet, make a single crochet, a half
double crochet, 2 half double crochet in a base, 3 single crochet, 3 slip
stitch, make the same on the other side to complete the petal, a slip stitch.
Section 5 Large Petals: Start 5 chains
1 turn: 15 chains and in these make: 14 single crochet, a slip
stitch in the circle for a total of 5 times.
2 lap: a single crochet, a half double crochet, 2 half double
crochet at a base, 3 double crochet, 2 half double crochet in a base, a half double
crochet, 3 single crochet, 3 slip stitch, same equal 'other side of the chains
to complete the petal, a slip stitch.
Explanation of the pistil.
Start 5 chains
1 turn: 4 chains and in the first one 6 double crochet
(total 7 because the 3 chains substitute the first double crochet), put the
crochet in the first double crochet and make a slip stitch, you have got such a
nutshell, make a slip stitch within the circle of 5 chains and resemble the
same for a total of 6 peanuts.
Explanation of the flower chalice:
Start 5 chains
1 turn: 15 single crochet.
2 lap: 3 chains and in these do: a single crochet, a half double
crochet, skip 2 base points, a slip stitch, resemble equal to a total of 5
times.
Explanation of the bud.
1 lap: 18 double crochet.
2 laps: 2 double crochet closed together for the whole lap.
Then insert the stem by cutting a piece of plastic wire, the length you need
and bending it 2-3 times on a tip to form a small ball and insert it into the
bud.
3 laps: with 4-5 slip stitch, close the job.
Explanation of the Blossom Chalice.
1 lap: 15 double crochet.
2 rounds: 7 chains and in these make: 3 single crochet, 3
half double crochet, skip 2 base points, a slip stitch, resemble the same for a
total of 5 times.
Once you have prepared all the sections of the flowers, the
pistols and the chalices of the flowers and buds prepared the stems.
Then cut a piece of plastic wire wire and wrap the same
cotton on the tip of the tip repeatedly for the pistil until you get a ball of
the same size as the peanuts. It will be the central pistil and will be a pivot
to hold the whole flower. Put in the order first the pistil, then the section
of small petals and then the big one trying not to put them superimposed but
offset so that all the petals are visible (if you need to somewhat pinch the
petals and the goblets). Now let's explain the leaves I made of two different
sizes. The small leaves will be loosened to the stem in a very thin way. The
large leaves are paired and joined by 2 through the galvanized iron wire and
placed in the jar at the base of the flowers.
Explanation of the small leaf.
1 turn: 3 single crochet, 3 half double crochet, 7 double
crochet, 3 half double crochet, 3 single crochet, equal to the other side of
the chains.
2 revolutions: Insert the galvanized iron wire of the leaf
length (more than 2 cm more per side to fit it to the stem) and work around the
single crochet.
Explanation of the large leaf.
Start 25 chains.
1 turn: 3 single crochet, 3 half double crochet, 12 double
crochet, 3 half double crochet, 3 single crochet, equal to the other side of
the chains.
As the large leaves are joined by the iron wire, cut the
length of 2 leaves and join them to the first leaf by working around the single
crochet. Twist the iron wire for 2-3 times on it to stop the work and make 25
chains and then another identical leaf, then drop to a slip stitch until the
beginning of the second leaf and join the remaining iron wire by working around
the single crochet. The iron wire that is in it ties it to itself to form a
small stem that will serve you to insert the leaf into the jar.
Once you put the small leaves on the stem, work around the
chains once on the right and once on the left of the stem, except for 2-3 cm
that you will leave without covering because it will be inserted into the jar.
Same work for buds.
You just have to put your Alpine Star in a jar with some
pebbles and a few grass clumps to recreate its natural environment. The Alpine
Star is so beautiful either alone or to be included in a composition of
mountain flowers. I always hope to have given you an extra idea and to have
explained everything to the best. Have fun creating with your imagination and
let yourself be guided by your inspiration. Hi everyone, next!
