How to crochet a Gerbera
As a beautiful and great daisy but much more elegant.
Cultivated as a decorative plant the gerbera is very used as a cut flower. In
the language of flowers it has its meaning, but knowing it depends on the color
it presents. Like many other wonderful mother nature creations I have tried to
recreate this crocheted flower as well.
To achieve this, you need to prepare 2 sections of 12 petals each, a central frangent, a pistil with stem, chalice and leaves.
To achieve this, you need to prepare 2 sections of 12 petals each, a central frangent, a pistil with stem, chalice and leaves.
Explanation of a section of 12 petals.
1 lap: 24 single crochet.
2 rounds: 20 chains and in these make: 19 single crochet, 2 single
crochet to equal equal to a total of 12 times.
3 lap: At 19 single crochet, make 1 slip stitch, a single
crochet, 14 half double crochet, 2 single crochet, equal to the other side of
the single crochet, a slip stitch. Repeat equal to a total of 12 petals.
Now make another section of 12 petals identical to the
previous one.
Explanation of the central "bangs" (I do not know
what it's called)
Start 15 chains and close in circle.
1 turn: 1 single crochet, 7 chains for a total of 20 times.
2 lap: bend forward the bow and on the back of each single
crochet make a single crochet and 8 chains for a total of another 20 bows.
Close the work by holding the cotton a bit long.
Now let's put a section of petals over the other, shifting
them, then over we put the bangs and we weave it with small points, putting it
like petals.
Now we prepare the stem by cutting a piece of plastic wire
of the length you need and on a tip (let's help with a clamp) we create a small
ball twisting 2 times the stem, it will serve as a pin to hold the flower.
Explanation of the small pistil.
Start 4 chains and in the first make: 11 double crochet
(total 12)
1 turn: 2 double crochet closed together for the whole lap,
insert the stem.
2 revolutions: With 5-6 slip stitch close the work with
inside the ball created with the stem.
Explanation of the chalice.
Start 5 chains and close in circle.
1 lap: 12 double crochet.
2 and 3 laps: 24 double crochet.
4 laps: 4 chains and in these make: a single crochet, 2 half
double crochet, jump 2 base points, 1 slip stitch for a total of 8 times. Close
the work by holding the cotton a little long enough to then sew the flower
goblet.
Now we assemble the flower by inserting in the stem the 2
sections of petals joined to the bangs and then the chalice, before we sew it
to the flower we put inside a little cotton wadding or cotton to give it a
little more "small" shape. Now do not worry about covering the stem
by working around the chains, once on the right and one on the left of the
stem, pretty thick and will help keep everything firm. Always leave those 4-5
cm stems open as that piece will be inserted inside the jar.
Explanation of the bud.
Start 12 chains and close in circle.
1 lap: 24 double crochet.
2 turns: 15 chains and in these do 14 single crochet. 3 single
crochet a total of 8 times.
3 lap: in the 14-single crochet to make: a slip stitch, a single
crochet to low, 9 half double crochet, 2 single crochet, a slip stitch, equal
to the other side of the single crochet. 2 slip stitch. Repeat equal to a total
of 8 petals.
To make the blossom the process is the same as the flower
except the bream that does not need it.
I have two leaves of different sizes to give them more
naturalness to the whole. To make the leaves instead of cotton number 20 I used
number 10 to give more thickness.
Explanation of the large leaf.
Start 50 chains. Cut a piece of galvanized iron wire 3 times
the chainring and insert it into these working around the first lap: 3 single
crochet, 3 half double crochet, 3 double crochet, 31 triple crochet, 3 double
crochet, 3 half double crochet , 3 single crochet, resemble the same as the
other side of the chains.
2 laps: 3 single crochet, 3 half double crochet, 3 double
crochet, in the 31 triple crochet points worked: 15 triple crochet, 15 double
triple crochet, 15 triple crochet, you have to increase every 2 points below,
will advance a point will be a triple crochet. 3 double crochet 3 half double
crochet and 3 single crochet, resemble the same on the other side.
Wrap the leaf with the central iron wire that will be the
rib and then the support of the leaf, twisting on yourself the 4-5 cm of
galvanized iron wire that you had kept extra to form a small stem that will
serve to be able to insert the leaf into the jar.
Explanation of the small leaf.
Same same procedure as the large leaf, only the initial
chains that will be 40 and the double crochet center points that will be 21 in
the first lap and the second lap will equal 2 points each will change only, so
you have 11 triple crochet, 11 double triple crochet, 11 triple crochet double
and all the rest will equal the big leaf.
It was a little long and hard but I think I was able to
create the explanation of the crochet gerbera. I hope to have explained
everything to the best and as always to give you an idea all the rest you have
to put it with your passion and your fantasy.
Hi everyone and next!
