Explanation of the crochet Flax flower
Since ancient times the Linen was cultivated both for its small and nutritious and healthy seeds, and for the stems from which a vegetable fiber was obtained for the fabric. His small and delicate flowers covering the blue fields are also highly appreciated, creating a truly spectacular carpet.
To make the crochet linen flower, prepare: the flowers, buds, goblets, stem and leaves of different sizes.
Needed: cotton number 20 - 1.0mm crochet hook - scissors - needle - 0.45mm galvanized iron wire - plasticized iron wire - pliers.
Explanation of the flower
Start 5 chains and close them in a circle.
1st round: 4 chains, 3 double triple crochet, 4 chains, 1 slip stitch in the circle. Repeat the same for a total of 5 petals.
Explanation of the bud
Start 4 chains and in the first make 9 double crochet (total 10).
1st round: 2 double crochet closed together for the whole lap.
Before closing the first round, insert the stem which will be a piece of plasticized iron wire cut to the appropriate length (help yourself with a pair of pliers), bend the tip twice to form a knot that will act as a pivot to hold the assembly in place. Close the first lap.
2nd round: close the work with 2-3 slip stitch.
For the buds that will be tied to the main stem, the small stem must instead be prepared with galvanized iron wire, creating a small ball by twisting it onto itself.
The same procedure also applies to the small stalk of the flower, which, when the small ball is created, is made by wrapping the yellow cotton several times and this will be the pistil of flower.
Explanation of the glass
The glass is the same for both the flower and the buds.
Start 4 chains and in these do 2 single crochet, 1 slip stitch in the first chain, 3 chains and in these do: 2 single crochet, 1 slip stitch in the first of the 4 chains. Repeat for a total of 5 times.
Insert the glass in the stem of the flowers and buds and cover them with cotton, working the chains around them.
Also cover the main cotton stem except about 3 cm that will be inserted into the jar.
There are 3 types of leaves: 2 pairs of small leaves that will be sewn to the joints of the first 2 sprigs up, 2 pairs of medium leaves that will be sewn to the joints of the other 2 sprigs, and the pairs of large leaves that will be inserted in the jar.
Explanation of the small leaf
Start 15 chains.
1st round: 4 single crochet, 6 half double crochet, 4 single crochet. Do the same on the other side of the chains. Close the work and keep the cotton a little long to be able to sew the leaf to the stem.
Explanation of the medium leaf
Start 20 chains.
1st round: 4 single crochet, 11 half double crochet, 4 single crochet. Redo the same side of the chains. Close the work and keep the cotton a little long to be able to sew the leaf to the stem.
Explanation of the large leaf
The leaves are coupled to two by the galvanized iron wire.
Start 25 chains.
1st round: 5 single crochet, 14 half double crochet, 5 single crochet. Do the same on the other side of the chains. Cut a piece of galvanized iron wire that makes the complete turn of 2 leaves plus about 4 cm more and insert it to the leaf working on the single crochet around it. Stretch the leaf well shaping it with your hands. Twist the wire on itself 2-3 times to block work. Without cutting the cotton make another leaf identical to the previous one. To get where there is the wire and to be able to work the low points go down for half a leaf with slip stitch. Twist the remaining wire to itself to form a small stem that will allow the leaf to be inserted into the vase.
A delicate flower to be inserted in a single vase, in a composition of wildflowers or all the beauty that your imagination suggests.
As always I hope I have explained everything to the fullest.
Have fun creating hello to everyone next time.
