Como tejer flor del lino ganchillo

Since ancient times the Lino was cultivated both for its small and nutritious and healthy seeds, both for the stems from which it was obtained a vegetable fiber for the fabric. The Lino flower covers the fields of blue, creating a truly spectacular carpet.
I have recreated this simple crochet plant which is made up of little flowers, buds, goblets, stems and leaves of different sizes.
Needed: cotton number 20 - 1.0mm crochet hook - scissors - needle - 0.45mm galvanized iron wire - plasticized iron wire - pliers.
Explanation of the flower

Start 5 little chains and close them in a circle.
1 lap: 4 little chains, 3 double triple crochet, 4 little chains, a slip stitch in the circle. Repeat same for a total of 5 petals.

Explanation of the bud

Start 4 little chains and in the first make 9 double crochet (total 10).
1 lap: 2 double crochet closed together for the whole lap.
Before closing the first lap insert the stem that will be a piece of plasticized iron wire cut the length you need (help yourself with a clamp) and curved 2 times on a tip to form a small ball that will act as a pivot to hold the together. Close the first round.
2 round: with 2-3 slip stitch close the work.

For the buds that will be connected to the main stem, the small stem must instead be prepared with galvanized wire, creating a small ball and twisting it on itself.
Same procedure also for the small stem of the flower, only when you create the little ball you will do it by wrapping the yellow cotton several times, this will be the pistil de fiore.

Explanation of the glass
The glass is the same for both the flower and the buds.

Start 4 little chains and in these make 2 single crochet, a single crochet in the first chain, 3 little chains and in these make: 2 single crochet, a slip stitch in the first of 4 little chains. Repeat a total of 5 times.
Once you have prepared all the flowers and buds that you need for your composition, insert the goblets into the small stem and work around the chains to cover it with cotton, except for the 2 cm that will serve to fasten it to the main stem.
When you have tied all the flowers and the buds to the main stem, also cover this with the cotton working around the chains.
Now it's ready to sew us over the leaves I'm going to explain.
There are 3 types of leaves: 2 pairs of small leaves that will be sewn to the first two twigs at the top, 2 pairs of medium leaves that will be sewn to the other 2 branches twigs, and the pairs of large leaves that will be inserted all around the base of the stems.

Explanation of the small leaf
Start 15 little chains.
1 lap: 4 single crochet, 6 half double crochet, 4 single crochet. Redo equal on the other side of the chains. Close the work and keep the cotton a bit 'long to be able to sew the leaf to the stem.

Explanation of the average leaf
Start 20 little chains.
1 lap: 4 single crochet, 11 half double crochet, 4 single crochet. Redo equal to the other side of the chains. Close the work and keep the cotton a bit 'long to be able to sew the leaf to the stem.

Explanation of the big leaf

Start 25 little chains.
1 lap: 5 single crochet, 14 half double crochet, 5 single crochet. Redo equal on the other side of the chains. Cut a piece of galvanized iron wire that goes around 2 leaves more about 4 cm more and insert it to the leaf by working around the single crochet. Tighten the leaf well and twist the wire on itself 2-3 times to stop the work, close the leaf by working around the chains. Without cutting the cotton make another leaf identical to the previous one. To get where there is the wire and be able to work the single crochet go down with slip stitch. After finishing the second leaf, twist the remaining iron wire around 2-3 cm to form a small shank that will allow the leaf to be inserted into the jar.

Now that you have prepared everything assembled the seedlings and insert them in the jar as I did, or in a composition of wildflowers or all the beauty that your imagination suggests.
Have fun creating hello to everyone next time.
